R v Inhabitants of Leake (1833)

Question
was whether certain land vested in commissioners responsible for drainage was
capable of being dedicated to public as a highway, having been used as such for
25 years.
Parke
J stated that if objects prescribed by governing statute were incompatible with
land being dedicated as highway then commissioners could not in law do such a
thing.
However
if such use by public was not incompatible with statutory purposes then
dedication could take place.
