Keech v Sandford [1726]

Extreme example of application of ‘no conflict’ rule.
Trustee held lease for minor beneficiary, which he sought
to renew.
Lessor refused to renew lease in favour of minor.
Trustee took lease for his own benefit.
King LC required trustee to hold lease on trust for
beneficiary, even though his interest when he acquired it was not in conflict
with his duty to beneficiary, since lessor absolutely refused to renew to a
minor.
