Allcard v Skinner [1887]

Plaintiff joined spiritual community which required
undertakings of poverty, chastity, etc.
Later came into possession of certain stocks which she
transferred to Defendant, head of community.
Also made will in favour of defendant.
Later left community.
Immediately revoked will, but took no steps to
retrieve property she had conveyed to defendant for further 6 years.
Held that by her inactivity after she had been freed
from spiritual influence of defendant she had acquiesced in gift, and claim was
barred.
